Christopher Stanfield was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1984. He graduated from Troy University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2006. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2011. He became a member of the Alabama State Bar in 2011. I am currently serving as the Deputy Director of Legal Management at the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). In this role, I assist in managing the operations of the SPLC’s legal department and coordinate programming for attorneys and law students. My professional background encompasses a variety of legal and advocacy work focused on economic justice, as well as habeas litigation for indigent petitioners. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University and went on to receive a law degree from Harvard Law School.
