Attorney Michael G. Floyd, born on October 17, 1955, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the youngest of eleven children. During his time at Roxborough High School, he was actively involved as the President of the Black Student Union and a member of the chess club. His athletic excellence in football and track earned him a scholarship to Le Moyne-Owen College in Memphis. He later transferred to Tennessee State University, where he became deeply engaged in civil rights activism, notably participating in demonstrations and the landmark case Garner v. I have lived in Memphis since 1979 and have practiced employment law across West Tennessee since 1994. For a little bit of time in the late '90s I practiced in other substantive areas in addition to employment law, but have always returned to that practice area. Since 2006 I have maintained my own practice with my wife who handles family law matters. We have three children of whom we are very proud and both hold black belts in Taekwondo.
