John W. Hughes is a certified mediator and arbitrator in Texas, with over 57 years of legal and business experience. He has successfully resolved thousands of diverse cases, including complex multi-party disputes. Known for his problem-solving skills, John is adept at finding creative and innovative solutions to conflicts. I grew up in Austin, attended Baylor, lived in Dallas with my wife for a number of years before moving to Fort Worth, started a family, and opened my practice.

Shawn’s practice includes a wide variety of civil litigation including: intellectual property litigation (patent, trademark, and trade secret), commercial litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, civil rights, and employment law. This broad practice has given him experience in many different aspects of litigation including: case assessment and research, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, hearing presentation, and trial presentation. Shawn has tried multiple jury trials to successful verdict as lead trial counsel and has been selected by Thomas Reuters as a Rising Star in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

I began my career in Los Angeles, defending doctors and hospitals in malpractice suits. After relocating to Texas in 1999, I have focused on representing those injured by the negligence of a third party.

Jacquelyn is a trained Family and Civil Mediator as well as a trained Parenting Coordinator. Dispute Resolution Services provides mediation and conflict resolution training to individuals and groups as well as low cost mediation services. DRS works with parties engaged in active litigation as well as individuals and/or groups not engaged in active litigation but who are in need of conflict resolution or mediation services. Jacquelyn also enjoys public speaking and engaging in community education activities.
