Mike graduated from San Luis Obispo High School. After high school he left San Luis for Southern California to pursue his education and legal carrier.

Mike spent most of his career as a partner at two large Southern California construction law firms. In 2014, he decided to switch from the large firm to the medium size construction law firm of Plumtree & Associates. This allowed Mike to develop a more one on one relationship with his construction contractor clients– something that is difficult to achieve at a big law firm.

I am a career courtroom attorney with over 25 years of experience handling all variety of criminal cases. I have tried numerous cases to juries including those involving allegations of murder, sexual assault, gang-related activity, and violent crimes involving firearms and other weapons. I have also tried hundreds of cases involving mental health issues and defenses, including murder cases with insanity and mental incompetence defenses. That experience led to my teaching on the subject of mental illness and mental defenses to California prosecutors at seminars hosted by the California District Attorneys Association.
