Julie graduated from Spalding University in 1982 with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in mathematics. She received her law degree from the University of Louisville in 1985. She spent her last semester of law school at Hastings University in San Francisco where she interned for the Department of Corporations. She became a member of the California Bar Association in 1985 and the Kentucky Bar Association in 1987. From 1987 to 1993, Julie was employed as a Staff Attorney for the Honorable J.
