I am a Columbus area intellectual property attorney specializing in patent and trademark prosecution and intellectual property portfolio management. I have represented clients ranging from individuals to multinational enterprises in various industries, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, mechanical devices, materials, and electronics. Beyond intellectual property matters, I have experience drafting and reviewing an array of business agreements and contracts, including licensing and transactional agreements, branding agreements, research and development agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and governmental contracts.

My law practice focuses on the prosecution and strategy associated with patents and trademarks. IP strategy, particularly patent strategy, patent portfolio audits, patent portfolio mining, and competitor portfolio analysis, is an area of particular expertise and passion, as well as product clearance, freedom-to-operate, developing invalidity positions, trademark clearance, trademark prosecution, strategic trademark portfolio maintenance, projects. I started law school while a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories. An engineering education and background did not help with law school, but I find that many engineering principles, diligent analysis, and problem-solving thinking help with actual law practice.

I am a USPTO admitted patent attorney and, in addition, I am a practicing attorney and a registered pharmacist. I am currently seeking a full time position as a patent attorney.
