You-Ran Handy is a native of Seoul, South Korea. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Virginia and Juris Doctor degree from Vermont Law School. While in undergraduate and law school, she did various internships with government agencies, non-profit organizations, large business corporations such as Samsung, and law firms in both South Korea and the United States.
