John Carty graduated from UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco and passed the California Bar Examination, on his first attempt, in 1980. He has been a practicing California attorney since being sworn in on December 16, 1980. He has practiced law in Calaveras, Stanislaus, Sacramento, and San Joaquin Counties for his entire career.

Born and raised in California to first-generation immigrants, I've known the value of hard work all my life. My father did manual labor for over five decades, and now I work to protect the rights of people just like him.
