I joined Hupy and Abraham in 2015 as an Associate Attorney. I became a shareholder in 2020. Prior to joining the firm, I spent four years as an insurance defense trial lawyer and have experience in Domestic Relations, Employment and Family Law. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, practicing yoga and running half-marathons.

I primarily handle workers' compensation, personal injury, medical malpractice and legal malpractice claims (plaintiff only) and have been doing so since 1991 (B.S., University of Iowa, 1988; J.D., Drake Law, 1991).

I have been serving on the IAJ BOG from November, 2016 to date. I previously served on the Urbandale Little League board of directors for approximately ten years and have been a member of the YMCA's "President's Club" for approximately the past twelve years as well as a participant in its annual "Partner With Youth" campaign.

I chose to practice law because I find fulfillment in the day-to-day tasks of representing individuals who require legal assistance. My passion lies in positively impacting my clients' lives by effectively asserting their positions and seeking justice for them. I achieve this by being accessible, possessing the necessary resources to develop and advance a case, offering wise counsel, and fervently advocating for a position when required. Witnessing my clients achieve significant outcomes is deeply gratifying.

I joined Hupy and Abraham in 2019 as an Associate Attorney to help injured clients. Before joining the firm, I practiced in family law, contract law, corporate law and more.

I chose to practice law because I am driven by a desire to positively impact the lives of those who have been injured or harmed by others. Before I became an attorney, I worked as a direct care worker at a facility for individuals with traumatic brain injuries. Witnessing their daily challenges with tasks that many of us take for granted deeply affected me. I have practiced workers' compensation in Iowa for twelve years. I only represent the injured workers, not big business or insurance companies. I have previously served on the Iowa Association for Justice Workers' Compensation Core Group and currently serve on the Board of Governors for the Iowa Association of Workers' Compensation Attorneys. Jake Peters was born March 14, 1960 in Council Bluffs and is a fourth generation member of the Peters Law Firm in Council Bluffs. Worker’s Compensation Attorney Adrienne Sula joined Hupy and Abraham as an Associate Attorney in 2025. Prior to joining the firm, she spent ten years as a collection trial lawyer, and three years practicing corporate compliance law. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, performing with various blues musicians in the area, and spending time with her husband and children.
